Tänapäevases maailmas on rõivatööstustoodangu pakkumise suure mahu tõttu tekkinud ka tarbijatel suuremad valikuvõimalused ja seeläbi ka nõudmised rõivaste kvaliteedile. Selleks, et tööstusettevõtted saaksid vastata oma tarbijate ja sihtgruppide nõudlusele, on vaja teha põhjalikke uurimustöid nende poolt pakutava kauba suhtes. Üheks olulisemaks uurimist nõudvaks valdkonnaks on kvaliteet. Kuna kvaliteet on suhteline mõiste, siis seda ei saa määrata vaid ühe meetodi või hinnangu põhjal. Seetõttu on oluline ka kvaliteedi määramise meetodite varieeruvus. Käesoleva diplomitöö eesmärgiks on välja selgitada parimate omadustega teksakangas, mida kasutada edaspidises tootmises AS Baltika Group poolt. Antud ettevõttes on ilmnenud seoses teksapükste kvaliteediga probleeme, mistõttu on ka tingitud ettevõttepoolne huvi antud teema vastu. Selleks, et kangaste kvaliteeti välja selgitada, on käesoleva diplomitöö ülesandeks katsetada kolme erineva teksakanga kvaliteeti, tuginedes kolmele erinevale uurimismeetodile. Katsealusteks toodeteks on valitud kolm paari teksapükse, mis kuuluvad brändide Monton ja Mosaic 2013. aasta kevadkollektsiooni. Üheks uurimismeetodiks on laborikatsed. Teine uurimismeetod on kehaskänner ja selle abil tehtavad mõõtmised. Kolmandaks uurimismeetodiks on autor valinud kandmistesti. Diplomitööd koostades on valdavalt tuginetud suurel hulgal erinevatele standarditele, et tagada ülesannete sooritamise õigsus ning tulemuste täpsus. Siiski on lähtuvalt katsest tehtud autoripoolseid muudatusi, mille põhjenduseks on materjalide vähene kättesaadavus. Jõudmaks ülesannete sooritamise abil eesmärgini, tegi töö autor igast uurimismetoodikast ja katsest täpsete tulemuste põhjal kokkuvõtte ja analüüsi. Analüüsist selgus, et kõik uurimismetoodika tulemused erinevad teineteisest, millega saab omakorda põhjendada erinevate uurimismetoodikate kasutamise tähtsust ja vajalikkust. Diplomitöös kasutatavate katsealuste teksakangaste tulemusi võrreldes selgus, et iga katsealune kangas on vastavalt sooritatud katsele erinevate omadustega, mis tähendab, et üldises mõttes ei olnud üks kangas teistest kangastest märkimisväärselt ei parema ega halvema kvaliteediga. Samuti selgus, et antud kangad andsid pärast laborikatsete sooritamisi tulemusi, mis ei kajastunud neist kangastest õmmeldud teksapükse kandes või vastupidi. Antud diplomitöös selgus, et üheselt hea või halva kvaliteediga ei saa hinnata mitte ühtegi katsealust kangast, küll aga saab ilmnenud kvaliteedi näitajaid ja omadusi iga kanga puhul teadlikumalt kasutada või vältida. Töö autor pakkus välja omapoolsed ettepanekud, millistele kangaomadustele tuleks edaspidi rõhku panna ning et millised tegumoed võiksid sobida antud kangaste omadusi arvestades senisest paremini, et parandada toote kvaliteeti ning seeläbi suurendada tarbijate rahulolu.The success of garments is directly related to their quality. In today's world the apparel industry provides the productions in a large amount, which have caused greater choice and thus the greater demands on quality by the consumers. In order to be able to reply to organisation's consumers and target markets needs, it is necessary to do a thorough research work. One of the most important area to research is the quality. Since quality is a relative concept, it can not be determined or estimated on the basis of only one method. Therefore, the variation of methods of determining the quality is also important. The aim of this thesis is to identify the best properties of denim to be used later in the production of Baltika Group, Ltd. The company has emerged with regard to the quality problems of jeans, therefore it is also due to the company's interest in this issue. In order to determine the quality of the fabrics, the task in this thesis is to test the quality of three different denim fabrics, based on the three different methods of research. In this thesis the test items, which are selected to this research, are three pairs of jeans, which belong to the spring collection of 2013 of brands named Monton and Mosaic. One of the research method are laboratory experiments. The second method is the body scanner which is measuring the measurements very accurately and at the same time. The third method which the author has chosen is the wear test. To find answers to the research task set in the thesis, the author has relied on different standards in order to ensure the correctness of the execution of tasks and the accuracy of the results. Though, in some research method there are made some changes by the author, which is justified by the lack of availability of materials. To reach the aim through the execution of tasks, the author has made the summary and analysis, which are based on the test results of every research methodology. The analysis showed that all of the research methodology results differ from each other. Therefore, the importance and necessity of using the different research methodologies is justified. Comparing the test results of the test items, it revealed that each fabric had the different characteristics, depending on the test method. It means that there was a general sense that none of the fabrics were with the significantly better or worse quality. It also revealed that the results of the fabrics which were tested in laboratory experiments differed from the results of jeans made by the same fabric which revealed after wear tests, or on the contrary. This thesis showed that no tested fabrics or jeans can be assessed to be good or bad quality, but each fabric and it's characteristics can be used or avoided knowingly.
