The following thesis Building Design Documentation for a Cycle and Pedestrian Pathway is to improve existing road traffic safety by designing cycle and pedestrian pathway. Additionally, road traffic signs and surface markings were used to help road users perceive the situation easier. Aside from designing road for unprotected road users, bus stops, turn-offs from the main road, corrections to the existing ditches and a parking lot were designed. Grounds for making corrections to the ditches was due to insufficient space to design the road. Other improvements were made according to client’s wishes. Geotehnical investigation and geodetic survey made it possible to design and plan roads. Geotehnical investigation was conducted by OÜ Rakendusgeoloogia ja Ehitusgeoloogia Inseneribüroo. Purpose of the survey was to identify existing materials and assess their properties in the region. Futhermore, groundwater depth was measured. Geodetic survey was conducted by AS EXACT Geomark. As a result of this survey, the designer had topographical plan which included exisiting ground, roads and public utilities (water, gas, electricity etc.). Besides that, elevation points were shown on the plan which helped designer to develope appropriate solution. The constructional solutions (material choice, requirements for materials and road layers) were based on technical standards and other compulsory documents that include norms or requirements which the project must be in harmony with.et
