Tallinna Loomaaia põhjaala

Loomaaedade vajalikkus kasvab iga aastaga kuna üha enam loomaliike satub looduse hävinemise ja reostumise tõttu väljasuremisohtu. Lisaks on loomaaedade eesmärk teha teadustööd, säilitada ning kaitsta ohus olevaid liike ning tõsta inimeste teadlikust looduses toimuvate protsesside kohta. Hetkel on Tallinna Loomaaia ala laialivalguv ning kohati jäävad eksponaatide vahele liiga pikad vahemaad. Lõputöö eesmärgiks oli välja pakkuda lahendus Tallinna Loomaaia Paldiski maantee poolsele pääslale ning selle kõrval asuvale tühjale alale. Ideeks on luua terviklik kompleks koos sissepääsu ja polaaralaga hetkel kehvades tingimustes elavatele hüljestele ning uutele asukatele – pingviinidele ja kaladele. Kompleksi eesmärk on tuua eksponeeritavad loomad sissepääsule lähemale ning tihendada kasutatavat maa-ala. Antud lahendus on täienduseks 2017. aastal valminud jääkarupolaariumile. Eksponaatide hooned vastavad kõikidele loomadele vajalikele nõudmistele ja tingimustele, et loomad püsiksid terved ja elujõulised. Hooneid planeerides on pööratud tähelepanu ka külastajate heaolule. Liikumisteede kavandamisel on arvestatud loogilisi liikumistrajektoore. Pakutav lahendus võiks olla eeskujuks järgmistele loomaaia projektidele oma terviklikkuse ning kompaktsusega. Uued hooned, esinduslik väljak ning uued asukad võiksid veelgi suurendada külastajate arvu.

Animals face the threat of extinction due to disappearance of the forests, global warming and pollution. The number of endangered species is rising by day. That is why we need zoos. A zoo´s main purpose is to do scientific research, preserve and protect endangered species and raise knowledge among people about the natural proccesses that are happening at the moment. At the moment the Tallinn Zoo is spread out to a large area which leaves extensive gaps between the exhibits. The aim of this thesis is to find a solution for the empty territory that lies next to the northern entrance. The concept is to create a whole complex for the animals of polar areas. The seals in Tallinn Zoo are living in a poor conditions right now and are in need for a new living environment. The purpose of this thesis is to make a comfortable home for the seals as well as new habitants such as penguins and fish. It is important to bring the exhibits closer to the entrance and organize the empty space between them. This solution is an addition to the existing polar bear area which was completed in 2017. The structures fill all the requirements and criteria for ensuring the animals health and vitality. The project is designed to take the into account the well-being of the visitors in addition to the well-being of animals. The pedestrian trajectories are logical and easy to comprehend. This solution should be an example for the next similar projects in terms of wholeness and compactness. New structures, representative square and new habitants of the zoo can significantly raise the numbers of visitors.
